QA Officer

What will you do?

As QA Officer, you will have a key role within the Food Safety department. You oversee and safeguard food safety throughout the entire chain, from grower to customer, and act as a strong partner for both internal and external stakeholders.

Main responsibilities

These are the core tasks of the position and the primary focus of the role:

  • Execute, maintain and continuously improve the quality and food safety management system in line with applicable laws and regulations
  • Responsible for residue sampling using STORM (Residue database)
  • Process and evaluate residue analysis reports and communicate results to buyers
  • Draw up supplier assessments based on residue results
  • Act as the main point of contact for the commercial department on food safety and quality-related matters
  • Provide support during food safety incidents and contribute to corrective and preventive actions

Depending on experience and workload, you will also contribute to the broader Food Safety activities within Roveg Fruit:

  • Certificate management together with Agriplace (e.g. GlobalGAP, BRC, IFS and other company certifications)
  • Maintaining and communicating Corporate Social Responsibility information to suppliers (e.g. Sedex, SMETA, BSCI, SIZA, Rainforest Alliance)
  • Maintaining manuals for various certifications (IFS, BRC, Skal, GlobalGAP Chain of Custody) and monitoring procedures and registrations
  • (Knowledge of Normec CareNet is an advantage)
  • Preparing and supervising internal and external audits
  • Keeping product specifications and label control up to date
  • Training employees in the area of HACCP and food safety
  • Contributing ideas to the long-term vision of Roveg Fruit in the field of Food Safety

Who are you?

  • Completed HBO education, for example in Food Technology, Quality Assurance, Agriculture/Horticulture or another relevant field
  • Relevant work experience in a similar QA / Food Safety role; preferably at least at the same level as the role you are replacing, or more senior
  • Accurate, structured and administratively strong
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good communication skills and fluent in Dutch and English
  • Connector, networker and team player
  • Affinity with fruit & vegetables and common quality systems is a plus
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to work on site at our office in Waddinxveen
  • A true hands-on mentality, reliable, responsible and solution-oriented
