(junior) Transport Planner

Are you someone who enjoys solving a logistical puzzle? We are looking for an enthusiastic transport planner for our new transport company.

As a transport planner, you will be for organizing and coordinating the efficient and timely transportation of fruits and vegetables. You will ensure that our trucks and third-party trucks follow optimal routes, comply with regulations, and maintain tight control over the planning. Every day, you will solve a logistical puzzle and build good relationships with clients and drivers.

What will you do?

  • Scheduling: You will ensure that all trucks arrive at their destination on time and will maintain clear communication with drivers.
  • Client contact: As a trusted point of contact, you will communicate with clients to confirm deliveries, keep them updated on the delivery status, and address any concerns or schedule changes. You will work with colleagues from Roveg Fruit and external customers.
  • Optimizing routes: You will design the best routes for trucks, considering factors like distance, fuel efficiency, traffic, and delivery deadlines.
  • Fleet management: You will monitor ruck availability, and coordinate with fleet managers to ensure the appropriate trucks are allocated for each job.
  • Documentation & regulations: You will ensure that all local and international regulations (such as traffic safety, truck maintenance, driving times, and weight limits) are followed.
  • Collaboration: You will serve as the point of contact between drivers, clients, and other departments, ensuring all parties are informed of changes and updates.

Who are you?

  • You enjoy (geographical) puzzles, problem-solving, and can switch quickly between tasks.
  • You are analytical, detail-oriented, and work efficiently.
  • You have an MBO+/HBO work and thinking level, with a background in transport or logistics.
  • You are available for 40 hours a week and are willing to work on-call shifts on Saturdays.
  • You are communicative and highly value customer satisfaction.
  • You are fluent in both Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
  • You are familiar with international laws and regulations and have experience with GPS tracking systems and fleet management software (or are willing to learn).
  • You possess a good understanding of the Dutch road network.
  • You hold a valid driver’s license (category B).
